WARTS
Viral skin growths that commonly affect the feet
How Warts May Present
Warts can differ in appearance based on their location, size, and how long they have been present. Some appear as small, well-defined growths, while others may spread or cluster together, creating areas of thickened skin that can be uncomfortable during walking or standing.
When warts develop in weight-bearing areas of the foot, pressure can cause them to grow inward rather than outward. This often results in localized pain, tenderness, or heightened sensitivity, especially during prolonged standing or activity.
Changes in skin texture, including roughness or thickened layers, may be noticeable. In some cases, small dark spots may appear within the wart, which are caused by tiny clotted blood vessels. These features can make everyday movement increasingly uncomfortable if left unaddressed.
WHY WARTS CAN BECOME PROBLEMATIC
Warts that persist over time can gradually become more disruptive, especially when they develop in areas exposed to repeated pressure or friction. As the affected skin thickens, everyday activities such as walking or wearing shoes may become increasingly uncomfortable.
Without appropriate care, warts may continue to grow or spread. Ongoing irritation can lead to heightened sensitivity and increased discomfort, making it difficult to remain active or maintain normal routines.

Early evaluation allows contributing factors to be addressed, helps limit progression, and supports more effective long-term management.
